We believe all people of all backgrounds can change the world!

Neehal Tumma: Student at Harvard university studying Computer Science and Applied Mathematics:

“Empower is a non-profit that truly cares about addressing the education disparities that low income students and underrepresented minorities face. Their curriculum is very well put together and amidst the racial tension in our country and the economic damage the global pandemic did to many families, starting this organization is a great idea and something many people desperately need. I urge everyone to volunteer and make a difference in someone’s life!”

Our Mission

At Empower, our mission is to ensure that regardless of one’s financial status or background, they can still pursue whatever they are passionate about through our organization without having the worry about paying for high-level education through prestigious programs.

Research proves that students who identify as an underrepresented minority are less likely to be exposed to educational opportunities that could carve pathways for them, thus, by partnering with boys and girls clubs around the U.S and other programs for inner-city kids, we tackle this problem head-on.

In our society, students who come from low-income families take a backseat to exploring their intellectual interests, and rather worry about providing for their family and helping them financially through any means. At Empower, we recognize those admirable individuals and they are the heart of our organization. Regardless of anyone’s financial background or the color of their skin, they deserve the right to learn so we urge everyone to join our movement in providing education worldwide to unprivileged youth.

Our Mission

Why did we start Empower?

One of our founders, Anish, observed how kids with tremendous potential were unable to pursue their passion in whatever field they were interested in due to their socioeconomic status and/or the color of their skin. When reflecting on his upbringing, he realized that he took most of these things for granted and didn’t pay much thought to those who had to deal with these problems that were totally out of their control. Deciding to take action, Anish assembled a diverse team that all have a mission to help those at a natural disadvantage, thus creating Empower.

“When I first heard out about Empower, I knew I had to get involved in some way to contribute to their end goal. In addition to the flawless curriculum put together by the Empower team that eases students into learning about these concepts, what inspired me was their mission. Many students around the world do not have access to education due to reasons completely out of their control - whether that be their socioeconomic status or their location. Everyone must contribute to this organization because the influence will produce an impact and helps a myriad of people who don’t have the same privileges many do.”
