Important Statistics

  • In 2018, nearly 46.2 million Americans were living in poverty and didn’t have access to fundamental education.

  • 40% of children living in poverty aren’t prepared for primary schooling

  • Less than 30% of students in the bottom quarter of incomes enroll in a 4 year school.

  • If they enroll, more than 50% of students don’t graduate.

  • In 2018, the dropout rate for students in the nation was at 8% for African American youth, 7% for Hispanic youth, and 4.5% for Asian youth, which are all higher than the dropout rate for Caucasian youth (3.5%)

These statistics are despairing and enforce our message that it is imperative we help those who are at a natural disadvantage through no fault of their own.
